yearning for entry

A mine, patiently chipped,

to unearth the diamond

midst coal’s embrace.

Immersed in warmth,

I await the embrace

of newfound truth.

Eager to reveal

the power of

the inner soul.

Stars fall out of my eyes
Showering down on old concrete
I shiver in the cold
Of a false awakening
I sit and wait
For lithium carbonate
Lamotrigine
Abilify and more…
Taking with them pizzazz
Snap
Verve
Zest
And my memory
And they leave the rest
They leave what’s left
Sedate
Even keel
Stable and calm
Waiting for my pill
So I don’t feel
So won’t feel

So I won’t burst
I will not lose control
