Wendy McNeill - Executive Director
Wendy is a longtime member of DBSA San Diego, where she resides. She attended her first meeting in September 2001 at a crossroads in life and then promptly got deeply involved in the organization. In 2002 she became a Volunteer Facilitator, and in 2005 took the role of Community Liaison. In that role, she became one of the strongest voices of the community and stepped up as a mental health advocate.
Wendy also served on the Board of Directors of NAMI San Diego (National Alliance on Mental Illness), as well as serving on the board of MHA San Diego (Mental Health America.) She is a believer in the power of group to facilitate recovery and promote quality of life for all people with mental health challenges.
In 2020, Wendy published a volume of poetry in collaboration with a visual artist named Tiko Makunts. This work explores themes such as mental health in all of its complexities, as well as the many facets of human nature.
A proud Triton, Wendy has a bachelors degree from UCSD in literature and writing.
Her husband is her biggest fan.
Amy Lombardi - Chief Administrative Officer
Amy holds a PhD in Linguistics from UC Davis and has taught College Writing since 2004. Inspired by the compassion and wisdom of peers in DBSA San Francisco, she began facilitating support groups in 2022. Amy is dedicated to raising the profile of DBSA throughout California, supporting facilitators, and developing the peer specialist workforce.
She is a dancer, yoga practitioner, and meditator who believes that optimal health is always an integration of the physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual. Amy lives in Santa Cruz with her husband and teenage daughter.
